I want to address the COVID-19 virus and the steps Grady Dental Care is taking to manage patent treatment. We were asked by the CDC and ADA to discontinue routine dental care several weeks ago and recently received a green light to begin treating patients again. Because of the contagious nature of the virus, we have implemented a new set of protocols in the office to ensure a safe environment for you to receive dental care.
This is not the first contagious illness that has circulated nor will it be the last. In my 20+ years of patient care, I have had to deal with many viral and bacterial infectious diseases and it has become a part of our everyday existence as your dental care team.
Because we have always followed strict sterilization protocols you will be safe in our office.
However, there will be a few changes you will notice when returning for routine and emergency treatment:
- The waiting room will be closed to encourage social distancing and we ask that you wear a mask to your appointment.
- Only patients receiving care will be allowed in the office.
- You will be asked to call the office once you arrive in the parking lot to “check in” and we will contact you once your treatment room is ready.
- We will provide hand sanitizer and will take your temperature before you are seen.
- Our staff will be wearing more personal protective equipment in addition to what we normally use.
I want you to know you are safe to receive dental care in our office and we are going out of our way to make sure strict protocols are followed. As we learn more about the virus and how to manage it, the steps we are taking may change to ensure we are all protected. I truly appreciate our patients and I encourage you to contact us with any questions or concerns.
