As we get older, our teeth can start to wear down and become more vulnerable to damage. If you’ve started to notice that your smile could use an overhaul due to damage or misalignment, veneers might be the perfect dental solution for you.
One of Dr. Grady’s patients at Grady Dental Care recently received a set of dental veneers, here are the before and after images so you can get a better idea of how you can benefit from this unique dental solution.
What are Veneers?
Veneers are thin, custom-fitted shells that cover the front surface of your teeth in order to correct mild to moderate cosmetic problems. Some common cosmetic flaws include:
- Cracked or chipped teeth
- Tooth discoloration
- Gaps between teeth
- Poorly shaped or sized teeth
The process of getting veneers is quick and non-invasive. To start, Dr. Grady and his team at Grady Dental Care will examine to make sure you are a good candidate for veneers. The next step is to prepare your teeth to take an impression. Once an impression, photographs, and models are taken we will send your mold to the Burbank Dental Lab to create the actual veneers.
Patients are fitted with temporary veneers in the meantime so you can continue to chew, speak and smile normally. Once we receive the finished veneers, patients return to have them fitted. Dr. Grady will start by micro-etching your teeth to help secure the veneer. Once that’s complete, Dr. Grady will apply a bonding agent and secure the veneer to your existing teeth.
Benefits of Veneers
While there are innumerable benefits to having dental veneers, the most important is probably the ease and cost of receiving them. Veneers are really the only option to completely reconstruct your smile without undergoing multiple cosmetic dental procedures or just receiving dentures. Veneers are also stain resistant and very durable. Because we use the best materials available, well-maintained porcelain veneers from Grady Dental Care can last anywhere from 10-30 years.
